Our Story
Angular Moment was created to explore the connections between design, technology and fabrication to make a line of jewelry that breaks from the norm.
We design unique modern jewelry using innovative technology to create high quality, beautiful pieces that are accessible.
Our current collection explores visual representations of form and space, through line and geometries, to create eye catching designs that shift between two and three dimensions. Each piece is made through a process of photo chemical etching on metal, a fabrication method able to create lightweight two dimensional pieces with very fine detail. Our processes and packaging aim to leave as small a footprint as possible on the planet.
A little about me
My name is Kyla Hygysician. Before starting Angular Moment, I worked as a designer at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. This work involved designing interior spaces, sculpting a visitor’s physical journey through an exhibition, and designing furniture and cases for artwork. Through this practice, I learned a lot about how people interact with objects, and how design can affect that experience. My exhibition design work can be seen here.
Throughout this year, I am excited to be participating as a Boston Fellow in the Creative Economy Business Incubator at Mass Art, sponsored by the city of Boston. I have a B.A. in art history from Boston University, and a master's degree in architecture from Washington University in St. Louis, and currently live in the Boston area with my partner and two daughters.
